What is a color season?
Personal color analysis sorts coloring into four seasons. Spring is warm and light, Summer is cool and soft, Autumn is warm and rich, and Winter is cool and high in contrast. Each season is then split into subtypes, such as Soft Autumn or Deep Winter, by how light or deep, and how muted or clear, the coloring is.
How to find your best colors
- Take a photo in natural daylight, facing a window, with no filter and little or no makeup.

- Read your undertone, contrast and season, then look at the neutrals and accent colors.
- Try the palette on clothes, makeup and jewelry, and keep what looks best in person.
Tips for a more reliable result
- Avoid warm indoor bulbs and colored walls, which tint skin in the photo.
- Keep your hair off your forehead and take glasses off if you can.
- Take two photos in different daylight and compare the seasons you get.
